We were contacted by a photographer in Telluride who was building a custom studio.
The design called for paneling several walls in cold rolled mild steel as well as building stairs of steel and maple,
a desk with a lift up lid of steel and Douglas fir, several zinc counter tops for the dark room and an exterior railing of steel and cedar. The steel panels throughout the project are 24 gauge steel laminated to MDF to achieve a very solid feel and dent
resistant surface. The ridged and relatively light weight panels permitted machining to very close tolerances resulting in an
exceptionally clean look. The panels were detailed with a random orbit sander and coated with linseed oil for a
beautiful and easy to repair finish. |
